Ever since Priyanka Chopra has walked out of director Ali Abbas Zafar's upcoming film Bharat, the film's protagonist Salman Khan has always maintained that there is no bad blood between him and the Quantico star. But it looks like somewhere deep down his heart, the Dabangg Khan seems angry and heartbroken over Priyanka's decision of not doing Bharat.

"She was getting engaged and I told her, 'If you are getting engaged, what's the need of exiting the project?' Then she said, 'Shaadi karni hai', to which I said, 'Toh shaadi kar lo'. Shaadi ke liye chaar din ka preparation, aur chaar din ki shaadi... So, we said we will work it out. But she was very clear that she didn't want to be a part of the film," Salman told Bombay Times in an interview.

Salman added that Priyanka was very keen to work on the project and revealed that she called his sister Arpita Khan Sharma a thousand times and even contacted Ali Abbas Zafar showing her interest.

"It must have been very difficult for her to make this decision because she was very keen to work on this project. She has called up Arpita a thousand times, saying, 'I want to work with Salman'. She has even called up Ali (Abbas Zafar, director) and told him, 'See if you can get me something in this film'," Salman said.

Salman, however, is unsure if Priyanka left Bharat for her wedding or him and not wanting to work anymore in Bollywood.

"Not doing this had to be because of the wedding or because she doesn't want to work with me anymore. It could be because she doesn't want to work in our industry or wants to work in Hollywood. Whatever she wants to do, I wish her all the best in life. We are glad that she is engaged and happy," Salman concluded.

After Priyanka's exit, Katrina Kaif stepped into her shoes and Salman revealed that she was actually the first choice of the film's producer and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri and his sister Alvira Khan for Bharat.
