All Indian stock indices appeared to surge during opening hours on Wednesday, but at 10.15 am, stock prices of metals and power plunged. BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened on bullish note.

While, the Sensex opened 93.52 points higher at 25322.17 points, Nifty started its day with a surge of 37.5 points at 7564.15 points.

On the other hand, Indian rupee has been recording low in the last few days due to demand for dollar from state-run banks for oil and defence payments. The Rupee opened 10 paise weaker at 60.23 per dollar versus its previous closing of 60.13 a dollar on Tuesday.

Stock Market is focussed on Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's congressional testimony on Wednesday; while traders have expected the rupee to remain range bound in the near term.

"We see the dollar-rupee pair trading steady in the near term, largely in the range of a rupee," Reuters quoted Uday Bhatt, senior manager at state-run UCO Bank.

In the meantime, top gainers from NSE Nifty were Advani Hotels and Resorts, VKS Projects, Savita Oil technologies Ltd, Sakthi Finance and Ravi Kumar Distilleries, whereas, LCC Infotech, Raj rayon Industries, Novopan Industries, Paras Petrofils and Green Fire Agri Commodities Limited were aong the top losers.

However, the above mentioned companies shifted their positions frequently during trading hours on Wednesday.

At 10.15 am, Sensex rose 81.51 points or 0.32 percent at 25310.16 points, while the Nifty surged 21.70 points or 0.29 percent recording at 7548.35 points.

In the mean time, among 12 Indian indices, BSE Metals and BSE Power fell by 56.54 points and 5.22 points.
