YU Televentures will continue to sell its affordable Yuphoria smartphone in weekly flash sales on Amazon India. It is available for Rs 6,999 on Thursday at 12 noon, which is when the flash sale begins and is expected to last for a brief period.

The Yuphoria flash sale is open only for registered buyers and registrations for the 17 September sale have already closed.

However, if you registered to buy a Yuphoria as early as 12 August but did not have any luck so far, you can still participate in tomorrow's sale. Usually, Amazon India accepts registrations for the next sale but the handset's advert no longer includes such an option. It could mean that YU might be planning to end the flash sale concept for Yuphoria starting next week.

YU has already ended flash sales for Yureka Plus, which is now available openly without prior registrations on Amazon. Several smartphone companies, such as Lenovo and Xiaomi, have put an end to flash sales and adopted the direct sales strategy. Although flash sales pumped up the demand for the handsets, open sales can make purchasing a lot easier.

As far as Yuphoria smartphone is concerned, prospective buyers can still participate in tomorrow's sale since YU is yet to confirm if it plans to end the flash sale system. So it is better to be on the safe side.

Yuphoria smartphone offers competitive specs at its price. Powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC clocking speeds at 1.2GHz and 2GB RAM, Yuphoria features a 5-inch HD screen with fingerprint proof coating on the Gorilla Glass 3 shield. The handset has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front snapper.

Yuphoria packs a 2,230mAh battery, supports 4G LTE and runs on Cyanogen OS 12-based Android 5.0 Lollipop. YU recently launched a new budget device Yunique, which also serves as a great alternative to Yuphoria at just Rs 4,999 but it is available exclusively via Snapdeal on Tuesday at noon. The next sale is scheduled for 21 September and registrations are open.
