Kolkata Knight Riders have been in superb form, having won three of their first four games of the IPL 2016. They will be up against an unimpressive Rising Pune Supergiants in the latter's home ground on Sunday.

A win against the two-time champions will give the Supergiants a major boost, as they are desperate to turn the wheels of fortune in their favour.

On the other hand, Gautam Gambhir is someone who does not like to lose. He has led his side from the front and is also one of the top run-getters in the IPL 2016. Gambhir will want his side to continue with the momentum they have gained.

Here is the prediction of how the match between Rising Pune Supergiants and KKR at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadiumon Sunday could pan out:

If Rising Pune Supergiants bat first: Ajinkya Rahane and Faf du Plessis will get them off to a good start, as they have done in this season of the IPL so far. The wicket is not going to change much, but the Supergiants will have to put a big total on the scoreboard and then defend it to win against KKR. A score of 55/0 after the powerplay overs is what the home side will be eyeing. They have some serious hitters in their ranks in the form of skipper MS Dhoni, Thisara Perera and Mitchell Marsh. With 125 for the loss of three wickets in 15 overs, Dhoni and Perera will go ahead and finish the innings with a flourish.

KKR have been in good form in this season. Their opening pair Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa have been at their best so far, and will be off to a flying start. A score of 60/0 at the end of six overs will set the platform for the rest of the hitters. KKR will cruise to their third straight victory with two overs to spare and six wickets in hand.

If KKR bat first: They have a very strong line-up. However, they will be missing Manish Pandey at no 3 and Andre Russell might just be promoted up the batting order. Uthappa and Gambhir will get off to a great start. Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been below his standards so far in this IPL 2016, will break the opening partnership. Murugan Ashwin, Rajat Bhatia, Mitchell Marsh and other bowlers will look to slow things down during the middle overs. KKR with 165-175 on the board will back Sunil Narine, Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav and Shakib Al Hasan with the white cherry.

RPS have a strong top order and will have a good start to their run chase. Narine and Shakib will tighten things from both ends by picking wickets at regular intervals. Dhoni and Perera trying to release pressure will throw their wickets away. In the end, the Supergiants will fall short by 12-15 runs.
