Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi may have worked together in a few movies only but their jodi had been appreciated and loved by the audience. But fans were left in utter shock when the Mulk actor failed to recognise India's first female superstar and his late co-star with whom he had worked in blockbusters films like Chandni and Nagina.

"What film is this? And I cannot recognise the actress with me!" Rishi Kapoor asked fans on Twitter while sharing a GIF of him matching steps with Sridevi in an old film.

The said GIF was from the 1997 film Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha in which Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi were paired together. The movie was directed by Partho Ghosh.

Kapoor's memory lapse landed him trouble with Twitter users who started slamming him left, right and centre. Some opined that the veteran actor has either lost his memory or heavily drugged that he can't recognise the actress who catapulted his career. They shot back at him saying that nobody would have recognised Kapoor if Sridevi had not worked with him in Nagina and Chandni.

Some users gave Kapoor the taste of his own medicine and said that they recognised the actress but don't know who was the actor dancing alongside her in the clip. Some even poked fun at Kapoor saying that it was pretty much expected from an actor who had bought a Filmfare Award award for Rs 30,000 in 1973. In 1974, Kapoor had received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his film Bobby (1973).

Kapoor may have failed to recognise Sridevi in the said clip but he was among the millions who were left heartbroken and shattered with the actress' demise on February 24 this year. He had even objected to the reportage about Sridevi's death when news channels were running ticker lines like 'the body will be brought to Mumbai in the night.'

"How has Sridevi all of a sudden become the "body"? All television channels reporting "the body will be brought to Mumbai in the night!" Suddenly your individuality gets lost and becomes a mere body??" Kapoor had tweeted then.
