Reliance Jio 4G voice calls: Indulge in conversations for at least 45 minutes and evaluate if your calls got cut-offReuters file

If you are a Reliance Jio subscriber using the Jio 4G SIM, then check on your voice calls, especially to other networks. Apart from the call drops issue, monitor the duration of your calls. Try indulging in long conversations lasting at least 45 minutes, as there have been reports which state that Jio voice calls get cut-off after 30 minutes.

At this juncture, there have been blog posts and social media reports that are making references to Reliance Jio voice calls not lasting more than 30 minutes. Therefore, you are advised to indulge in voice-calling, with friends and family, for more atleast 45 minutes to an hour and check for both quality as well as voice drops. Do remember that Reliance Jio is doing its best as far as reducing call failures are concerned.

Apparently, with traffic congestion and lesser points of interconnection (POIs) being an issue, Reliance Jio could resort to taking temporary measures in order to clear network congestions. Therefore, you could (not confirmed though) encounter calls being cut-off while you indulge in conversation. Hence, make multiple attempts at indulging in long duration voice calls and evaluate all in-call aspects carefully.

Nonetheless, renowned industry insiders are of the opinion that in case of reduction of call talk-time to 30 minutes, this could have happened due to technical glitches and is not essentially a measure effected by Reliance Jio. Also, if you use SIM-cards of other network service providers, do indulge in voice calls for over 30 minutes (if you have subscribed to a free voice call plan) by calling Reliance Jio numbers.
