It is almost confirmed that Xiaomi will unveil the second generation Redmi Note later this, if the company chief's Wiebo post is to be believed.

Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun, via his official Weibo account, hinted at the release of the "new Redmi Note" on 29 June. Thus, confirming that the much-anticipated budget phablet will finally see the light of the day.

This announcement comes just days after the rumoured Xiaomi Note device made its appearance at the Quality Certification Center website revealing key specifications of the device.

Expected specifications of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2:

It has been learnt that Redmi Note 2 will keep 5.5-inch screen size of its predecessor, but its resolution will be bumped from HD (1280p x 720p) to full HD (1920 x 720p).

Under the hood, it is said to house a 64-bit class Mediatek (MT6795) Helio X10 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) powered by Android Lollipop (either v5.0.2 or v5.1with MIUI skin).

Redmi Note 2 is also expected to have a 13mp camera on the rear-side, 5mp snapper on the front and to power the energy-hogging full HD screen, it will be equipped with more than 3000 mAh charged cell.
