Reliance Communications has entered into a partnership with WhatsApp, a cross-platform instant messaging application, and has launched the 'WhatsApp Plan' and 'My College Plan' in the country on Monday.

Speaking about the launch of the prepaid plans, Sanjay Behl, group head, brand and marketing of Reliance Communications said, "This is the first of its kind offering of sharing unlimited text, music, pictures and videos. It will provide a compelling new experience with incredible affordability to smartphone users across the country. We are hoping this offer to trigger a significant shift of youth customers using smartphones to our superior network."

'My College Plan' is a special plan for students across the country, providing unlimited access to WhatsApp on a prepaid recharge of ₹16 per month. The plan will allow the students to make calls and send SMSs within their group at just 5 paise. Students cans also share information to the entire college group by texting to 51112 at just ₹3.

To avail the offer students have to get special college IDs from the Reliance Communication network website. The plan will be auto renewed after 30 days of validity. Those who wish to discontinue the plan can send the message 'UNSUB' to 51111.

'WhatsApp Plan' is for all its prepaid GSM subscribers and is similar to the 'My College Plan'. Using this plan, the customer can use both WhatsApp and Facebook unlimitedly for a period of 30days on a recharge of ₹16.
