Ranveer Singh, who will play Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film, has shaved his head.
The shooting of Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" started earlier this month with Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer. The "Kill Dill" actor plays the role of warrior Baji Rao and the character demands him to shave his head.
Ranveer, who is known to get into the skin of his on-screen character, has gone bald for the role. The Times of India revealed the first photo of Ranveer getting his head shaved for the film "Bajirao Mastani" on Monday night.
Ranveer will play the role of noted general Peshwa Baji Rao, who is said to have fought for the establishment of Hindu Pad Padshahi. To fit into the character, Ranveer has also isolated himself from his family.
"(I'm) trying to move out of my place... just for my next," the actor told Hindustan Times.
"The film requires me to cut off from television, (have) no phone, no Internet and I honestly need to get into a certain zone. At home, there's my mother, sister and father. I need to just cut off and get into this (completely). I can't even tell you the demands of this character. It's scary", he added.
"Bajirao Mastani" is a period dram, which features Ranveer and his alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Priyanka will play the role of Kashibai, who is Baji Rao's first wife.
Meanwhile, this year even Shahid Kapoor shaved off his head for his film "Haider", which was released on 2 October. But Ranveer is going complete bald for "Bajirao Mastani", while Shahid sported a near-bald look.
