Easily one of the finest actors of the Hindi film industry, Ranveer Singh goes for the kill every time he prepares for a role. While in "Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-leela" the actor flaunted his chiseled contours, "Bajirao Mastani" has made him shave his head clean.

However, after the tonsure, Singh has been keeping away from the shutterbugs. But he surprised his fans during his visit to Amitabh Bachchan's "Kaun Banega Crorepati 8". Hiding the bald look under a fedora, the energetic actor made a statement in a loud bandhgala and posed for a selfie with the rest of the "Kill Dill" cast – Parineeti Chopra, Govinda and Ali Zafar.

While the look was exceedingly interesting, what came across as strange was after all the security beef-up and self-imposed exile, why would the actor choose to show up in an avatar which is reserved until the film's ("Bajirao Mastani") promotions kick start. Will this miff the makers? Only time will tell.

"The bouncers have been asked to be vigilant and check that no one is clicking photos of him. Bhansali is very passionate about his films, and he doesn't want anything to come out before he chooses to share it," an insider told Hindustan Times.

However, the actor had earlier said he takes his roles seriously and so locking himself up in a hotel room will apparently aid him in preparing for his character. "I need to just cut off and get into this (completely). I can't even tell you the demands of this character. It's scary," HT quoted the actor a few weeks ago.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" is a dream project, which was stalled after the Salman Khan-Aishwarya Rai split. The master director waited for a decade to find his perfect lead characters in Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. While Chopra has already begun her schedule, the "Happy New Year" actress will join the rest of the cast only in March 2015.
