Mega power star Ram Charan and director Sukumar have planned to release Rangasthalam 1985 on March 30 in a bid to avoid a clash with Bharat Ane Nenu (BAN) and Naa Peru Surya (NPS).

Superstar Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu and stylish star Allu Arjun's Naa Peru Surya are scheduled for release on April 27, and anticipation of their clash at the box office has created a lot of buzz.

Amidst all this, it was rumoured that Rangasthalam would also be released on the same date. The news sparked speculations about the prospects of the three Telugu movies.

But Mythri Movie Makers, who are producing Rangasthalam, have cleared the air surrounding its release date. The makers released the much-awaited first look of the Ram Charan-starrer on Saturday. They simultaneously announced that the Sukumar-directed film would hit the screens on March 30.

Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and CV Mohan are bankrolling Rangasthalam. Speaking about it, they said: "After delivering two blockbusters, we are glad to be associated with a film like Rangasthalam, which is a very prestigious project for us. We recently released the first look of the film and are thrilled with the response."

Talking about its story, they said: "With a village backdrop, Rangasthalam has turned out well. Ram Charan has delivered a capitavating performance in a never-seen-before role, where he plays the character Chitti Babu. Samantha, who is pairing up for the first time with Ram Charan, is sure to shine. Versatile Director Sukumar has created an out-and-out entertainer with a different touch, which will leave the audience spellbound."

The shooting of Rangasthalam is now going on at a brisk pace. "The film is nearing completion except for a talkie potion of five days (which will be completed this month) and two songs. Pooja Hegde will be seen in a special song. The songs will be shot in January. Post-production will also take place simultaneously," the producers said.

The makers, who have earlier produced hit films like Srimanthudu and Janatha Garage, hope to score a hat-trick with Rangasthalam.

"It will be ready for a worldwide release as planned on March 30. We are sure that this film will be a value addition to our banner and will also mark a hat-trick of hits for us!" they said.
