Ram Gopal Varma slammed the reports that he said that AR Rahman did not compose music for the song Jai Ho but it was Sukhwinder, who scored music for the Oscar winning song.
AR Rahman was recently in news for his statement on not getting enough work in Bollywood. During this buzz, a video of Ram Gopal Varma's interview created ripples in the social media. Based on this video some reports claimed that Ram Gopal Varma was refering to the song Jai Ho and saying that it was composed by Sukhwinder.
In an interview, Ram Gopal Varma is seen saying, "Rahman was doing a film called Yuvraj for Subhash Ghai and Rahman is always late, it frustrates you not being on time. On this day, Rahman was arriving from airport and Sukhwinder was there, doing something, Rahman came and said hi hi and asked Sukhwinder right in front of Suubhash Ghai, "did you compose?"
The filmmaker added, "Sukhwinder said yes, played a song and Rahman said he liked it and asked if Subhash liked it. Subhash got angry and started shouting at Rahman saying' I'm paying you 3 crores for you to do it… i also can get Sukhwinder to do it, why do i need you?"

Ram Gopal Varma was shocked to see the reports and he took to his X account to clear the air surrounding Jai Ho. He said that he was misquoted and misread out of context in the matter of the Jai ho song. He added that AR Rahman is the last person to take away anybody's credit.
Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, "To all concerned .. I am being misquoted and misread out of context in the matter of the Jai ho song . .. in my view @arrahman is the greatest composer and the nicest human being I ever met and he's the last person to take away anybody's credit ..I hope this puts an end to the negativism surrounding the issue."
