Rajinikanth in Kabali
Kalaippuli S Dhanu says the teaser of Rajinikanth Fans Page

The makers of Rajinikanth's "Kabali" have confirmed its audio release date, and have also sold the theatrical rights of its Telugu version to the leading distribution house, Abhishek Pictures, for a record price.

Santhosh Narayanan, who had earlier scored the music for "Jigarthanda," "Madras," "Iruthi Suttru" and "Manithan," has composed the soundtrack of "Kabali." Rajinikanth fans, who are eagerly waiting to listen to the songs of the movie, may get to hear the music if the makers release the audio album as scheduled, on May 30.

"Kabali" is a Tamil gangster film, which is being dubbed and released in Telugu with the same name on the same date. The makers have planned to release the music of both the versions on the same day as well.
Its Tamil audio will be released at a grand event to be held in Chennai on May 30. Later that day, the team will head to Hyderabad to launch its Telugu music at night.

Rajinikanth has got a huge fan following in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where many of his movies have become blockbusters at the box office. No wonder then that there was a great demand for the distribution rights of the Telugu version of "Kabali." Several leading distribution houses were in the race to bag the rights.

According to recent reports, Abhishek Pictures has acquired the theatrical rights of "Kabali" for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The distribution house is said to have shelled out a hefty amount for the rights, which is perhaps a record price for a Rajinikanth film in these areas.

Rajinikanth's last outings, "Lingaa" and "Vikramasimha," which was the dubbed version of "Kochadaiiyaan," had failed to live up to the expectations of the audience. Both the movies resulted in huge losses for its Telugu distributors. That's also why the fate of "Kabali" at the T-Town box office is being eagerly awaited.

"Kabali" has been written and directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his banner, V Creations. The movie revolves around the story of an aging gangster in Malaysia, played by Rajinikanth. Radhika Apte, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan, Dhansika and Dinesh Ravi are seen in the other important roles in the film, which features GV Prakash Kumar's music and George C Williams' camera work.
