Actor Rajesh Sharma is admitted to a hospital under urgent care after a suspicious case of insect bite. Sharma was speaking to technicians after packing up in Ramoji Film City for Prabhas' film when he felt something bite him. The actor didn't pay attention to the insect bite and went back to the hotel. The actor didn't take any medical assistance then as it didn't seem necessary.

Sharma's health started deteriorating a few hours later. He began developing fever and also had breathlessness. But then he took the flight to Kolkata where his health further worsened. By the time the actor was taken to the hospital, the infection in his leg had spread. The infection spread from his toe upto his knee with blisters all over.

Infection spreads

"The infection has spread from his toes up to his knee, with large blisters developing over the affected area. According to Dr. Avijit Bhattacharya, it is too early to make any definite assessment. Rajesh remains under close observation and is not yet out of danger," a statement by actress Sudipa Chatterjee read.

Not out of danger

The note further revealed that the actor is under close monitoring because if he develops blood clots which then happen to travel to the heart or lungs, it could be life threatening. "Doctors are monitoring him carefully, as there is concern that complications could lead to the formation of a blood clot, which, if it travels to the lungs, could become life-threatening," the note further read.

Family issues statement

Sharma's family also issued a note and thanked everyone for the well wishes and care. "We sincerely thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support-especially the media, the Bengal Motion Pictures Artists' Forum, Rajesh's friends and well-wishers, and above all, Shri Prosenjit Chatterjee, who has been a constant source of guidance and support during this difficult time.
