Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, has made a sensational claim linking actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Raghav Chadha's reported political shift from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to her, Priyanka allegedly intervened after learning that senior AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, were targeting Chadha. She is said to have reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to Chadha as her "brother-in-law" through her cousin Parineeti Chopra's marriage to him, and requested support for him. However, these claims remain unverified and have not been confirmed by Priyanka Chopra or the BJP.
Raghav Chadha, who spent over a decade with AAP and served as its Rajya Sabha deputy leader, recently resigned along with several MPs. He cited a "toxic work environment" and growing disillusionment as reasons for his exit, describing himself as "the right man in the wrong party." He has denied that fear or external pressure influenced his decision.
His departure has sparked political debate, with some viewing it as part of a larger realignment, while others interpret it as a response to internal party issues. The added claim involving Priyanka Chopra has introduced a Bollywood angle, further intensifying public interest.
Priyanka Chopra had earlier expressed support for Chadha on social media during his removal as AAP's deputy leader, highlighting their family connection. Meanwhile, Navjot Kaur Sidhu's remarks come amid her own political activity, as she leads her own party in Punjab.
While the allegations remain speculative, the episode has fueled discussions on the growing overlap between celebrity influence, family ties, and Indian politics.
