Director Puri Jagannadh's next venture ISM is gearing up to be released in 76 screens across North America and it is the highest screen count for a movie featuring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead role.
Puri Jagannadh's association with Kalyan Ram created a lot of hype for ISM and its promos added more to the curiosity and expectations from the movie. The success rate of Puri's film generated huge demand for the overseas theatrical rights of ISM and several leading international distribution houses were in the race to buy its rights.
CineGalaxy Inc, which released several Telugu films in the past, acquired the overseas distribution rights of ISM. "With the belief that the best should be presented to the audiences, CineGalaxy Inc has always distributed films that make a difference and are loved by the audiences. With the same intention, we bring to you 'ISM' which is set to hit theatres near you very soon," reads a statement released to media.
The makers of ISM have not disclosed the price of its international theatrical rights, but it is said to be a record amount for a film starring Kalyan Ram. The bosses of CineGalaxy have booked around 76 screens in North America in a bid to cash in on the craze of Kalyan Ram and Puri Jagannath. They have also planned to hold premiere shows in 50+ screens in the country on October 20, a day before its release. Check here ISM US schedule list.
Kalyan Ram's 2015 movie Pataas was released in around 30 screens in North America and it was a big hit at the US box office. Following this success, the makers of his next outing Sher released the film in around 60 screens in the country, but the movie could not beat the records of Pataas. Now, having surpassed its screen count, ISM is expected to shatter the collection records of Pataas in the country.
ISM is an action film, which has been written and directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Kalyan Ram under the banner of NTR Arts. Kalyan Ram, who is playing the hero in the film, has undergone a complete makeover and is seen flaunting his six pack abs and stylish getup. His look featured in its promos has created a lot of curiosity around the movie.
