Alphonse Puthren's "Premam" starring Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Anupama Parameshwaran, Madonna Sebastian, Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Shankar and many others has been doing tremendous business in India and abroad.
The film, produced by Anwar Rasheed, has been well received by the audience and critics for its fresh presentation and amazing performances.
However, after the film's censored copy was leaked on Facebook and YouTube, the film's producer Anwar approached many film associations and anti-piracy cell seeking support.
After reportedly receiving a lukewarm response from the associations and the anti-piracy cell, the director-cum-producer expressed his decision to quit from all film associations on Wednesday, 1 July.
Now, many actors and directors, including mega star Mammootty, Nivin Pauly, Jude Anthany Joseph, Lijo Jose Pellissery and Vineeth Sreenivasan, have come forward to express their support on the piracy row.

To my friends in film industry, please put Studio name as water mark when you give the film copy for post production to each studio/institute and make them sign an agreement that if the film is leaked with their name as watermark, they will be responsible for the entire loss. Thats one way to kill piracy.
