Mumbai police detained Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh in connection with the alleged suicide of the television actress. Rahul, who is an actor and producer, recorded his statement Saturday morning and said that he took Pratyusha's body to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
"We used to stay in a 2 BHK flat. We had two keys with ourselves where one was with Pratyusha and one was with me. When I entered the bedroom, I saw Pratyusha hung to the ceiling. I immediately called the neighbours and with their help, I took her to the Kokilaben Hospital. We assumed she was alive, however, she was not. I got so scared, that I did not inform the police. It was the hospital authorities who informed them. After the doctor's declaration, I called up Pratyusha's family members and few of our close friends," Rahul told police, according to India-Forums.
Pratyusha committed suicide Friday, by hanging at her residence in Mumbai. Police have been waiting for the autopsy report for details, but an investigator told IANS that Pratyusha would have died at around 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, television celebrities, including Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina Bonnerjee, Smita Bansal, Sidharth Shukla, Jay Bhanushali, Mahi Vij, Dolly Bindra, Shashank Vyas, Sachin Shroff, Pooja Banerjee and Vishal Singh reached the hospital after the news of Pratyusha's death broke.
There have been no confirmed reports as why she committed suicide, but the television industry is abuzz with the speculation that her failed relationship with Rahul is the reason behind her death.
Her "Bigg Boss 7" co-contestant Ajaz Khan also claimed that she was killed. He told reporters Friday night that it's a "planned murder."
On the other hand, controversy queen Rakhi Sawant has made a shocking revelation. According to Rakhi, there was sindoor on the parting of Pratyusha's hair.
"I went to the hospital with Dolly Bindra. I was shocked to look at Pratyusha's face. There was sindoor smeared on the parting of her hairs. There were some scars on her neck and had black lips," she told ABP News.
