Actor Prakash Raj has met KTR aka KT Rama Rao after announcing his political journey. Their meeting has fueled speculations that he might contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate.

Ever since journalist Gauri Lankesh was murdered, Prakash Raj has been vehemently criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government at the centre. After seeing his hate speeches, many felt that he might be joining politics and it would be an attempt to gain attention. The actor has now put an end to all the speculations with an announcement on his Twitter page.

On New Year's Eve, Prakash Raj tweeted, "HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE..a new beginning .. more responsibility.. with UR support I will be contesting in the coming parliament elections as an INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. Details of the constituency soon. Ab ki baar Janatha ki  SARKAR #citizensvoice #justasking in parliament too.."

Like Prakash Raj, TRS leader K Chandrashekar Rao has also waged a war against Narendra Modi and has gone on to announce the Federal Front to dethrone the PM. A day after his announcement, Prakash Raj reportedly met TRS working president KTR in Hyderabad and discussed his plans.

Later, Prakash Raj took to his Twitter page to share the news. He posted a picture and tweeted, "Thank you @KTRTRS for the inspiring support to my political journey... a new beginning NOT AGAINST some one but FOR THE SOCIETY #citizensvoice #justasking in parliament too (sic)."

KTR retweeted Prakash Raj's post and wished him good luck for his political journey. The TRS working president wrote, "Congratulations @prakashraaj on the decision to enter public life. Let your journey be all about bringing positive change; Wish you good luck."

Although Prakash has announced his decision to contest the LS elections as an independent candidate, his meeting with KTR has fueled the speculation that he might join TRS. It is also being speculated that he might join KCR's Federal Front to fight against the BJP-led NDA government.
