Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met eminent cardiologist Mansoor Hasan in Lucknow as a part of Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) 'Sampark se Samarthan' (Contact for Support) initiative. Hasan is known for helping establish the Lari Cardiology Centre at King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. Even after retiring from his services at KGMU, Hasan continued to be involved in clinical cardiology, besides having a keen interest to be updated with the recent advances occurring in this field. In 2011, Hasan was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution in the development of cardiology.

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Thursday visited ailing Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad at his residence in Patna. Lalu, who was out of parole in May to attend his elder son Tej Pratap's wedding, is on a six-week bail on health grounds. He is suffering from a heart condition, for which he was recently admitted to New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Following his meeting with Lalu Prasad, Gehlot tweeted a picture with him, saying: "Visited Sh Lalu Prasad Yadav ji at his residence in #Patna, #Bihar... I wish him a speedy recovery." Gehlot is in Patna to attend 100th birth anniversary of former Bihar Chief Minister, Late Satyendra Narayan Sinha.

The last date for registration for 1st May Mahashramdaan is midnight on 25th April. Around 1 lakh people have already signed up to be Jalmitras in the past three weeks.
