Petta US box office collection: Rajini film pre-sales bigger than NTR Kathanayakudu, Viswasam and VVR

Rajinikanth's Petta has got a good response in its pre-sales at the US box office and its collection is bigger than the business of other Sankranti release NTR Kathanayakudu, Viswasam and Vinaya Vidheya Rama (VVR).

Petta will be released in two languages - Tamil and Telugu - and Thinkk Big, which is distributing the film in the US, has made a grand arrangement. Both the versions will be screened in over 500 screens. Ramesh Bala, a film trade observer, said: "#Petta is releasing in 290 locations in #USA The combined Theater count for Tamil and Telugu is 501 Theaters.. @BigThinkk Release.."

Thinkk Big‏ tweeted the US theatre list for Petta and wrote, "#Petta drive shipped to all theaters, all the theaters will be getting the drive by tomorrow. KDM issued and it will be sent to theaters shortly. Unopened theaters should open the shows after receive the KDM!! #GetRajinified #PettaPongalParaak #PETTAinUSA @USTamilLLC @ATMUSent."

Petta has collected $315,000 in its pre-sales at the US box office. The movie, which has already shattered the record of Rajini's 2.0, is likely to cross $1 million mark in the country.

The pre-sale business of Petta is a way ahead of other Sankranti releases like NTR Kathanayakudu, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Viswasam. It should be noted here that NTR Kathanayakudu will be premiered in the US on January 8, while Petta and Viswasam will have their preview shows a day later. Since Vinaya Vidheya Rama has its special screening scheduled on January 11, its pre-sales is yet to pick up speed. By the time it reaches its deadline, its pre-sales would be nothing less than NTR Kathanayakudu and it is likely to be equal to Petta.
