Nagarjuna's "Oopiri" has remained unaffected by "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" in the North America and its collection has crossed $1.5-million mark at the U.S. box office on its 16th day.

The Nagarjuna and Karthi starrer, which was released in over 130 screens March 25, grossed $1,078,399 in its first week and $354,106 in its second week. "Oopiri" collected a total of $1,432,505 at the U.S. box office in two weeks. Taran Adarsh tweeted April 8, "Telugu film #Oopiri crosses â'¹ 9.50 cr mark in USA... 2-week total [till 7 April]: $ 1,432,505 [â'¹ 9.53 cr]. SUPERB! @Rentrak."

Trade experts in T-Town predicted that new release "Sardaar Gabbar Singh" would force "Oopiri" out of most of the cinema halls in the country. It would also slow down the latter's collection by driving away the audience from it. But to everyone's surprise, the Vamsi Paidipally-directed film managed to hold strong in 70 theatres in its third week.

"Oopiri" has continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the ticket counters in the country in its third week. When compared to its second Friday business ($ 89,211), the movie witnessed 75 percent dip its collection on its third Friday. Taran Adarsh â€tweeted, "Telugu film #Oopiri is STEADY in USA. [Week 3] Fri $ 22,288. Total: $ 1,454,792 [â'¹ 9.68 cr]. @Rentrak"

"Oopiri" needed $46,000 to surpass the mark of $1.5 million mark and it is estimated to have collected over $50,000 at the U.S. box office on its 16th day. As per early trends, the movie will do good collection on its third Sunday. It will become the third highest-grossing Telugu movie of all time in the U.S., beating the life-time collection records of "Manam" and "Attarintiki Daredi."

Some people in the industry feel that it is the success of a movie with good content. Idlebrain Jeevi â€tweeted, "#Oopiri officially crosses $1.5 million in USA on Saturday. Power of good content!!! From 76k in premieres to 1.5 million in 3rd weekend! Slow and steady wins the race. Power of good and meaningful cinema! #Oopiri "
