OnePlus Two Final Round-Up: Expected Release Date, Price, Specifications DetailsOnePlus via Twitter

Just a few days ago, OnePlus had reportedly hinted that the company's flagship smartphone One's successor might get unveiled next week.

The company's not-so-cryptic message read, "We're always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry. And we think it's time for change. Find out more June 1," almost confirming that OnePlus Two will be unveiled on coming Monday.

Going by the numerous reports flying around in the internet, OnePlus Two looks ready to stir up another storm like its predecessor, One, which was fondly called the flagship smartphone-killer by tech critics and fans alike.

To help get a better perspective on the OnePlus Two key specifications, we have sifted through numerous reports and have put together a list of probable features, which are likely to make the cut in One's successor.

Display and Build Quality:

Earlier this month, we saw OnePlus Two getting listed at a couple of benchmark sites, revealing that the upcoming smartphone will keep the same 5.5-inch screen size that we see in the current model. One improvement is that it boasts QHD (aka 2K: 2,560x1,440p) screen resolution with Pixel density of 538ppi (pixels per inch), which has now become a norm in the smartphone industry.

Another aspect of the smartphone's design element that is expected to get a bump is the metal cover.

It has come to light that the company will be using metal, instead of polycarbonate to cover the rear side to make the new phone look like tier-1 brand rivals, Samsung, Apple and HTC.

Processor, RAM and Storage Capacity:

2014 model One came with Snapdragon 801 series quad-core processor backed by 3GB RAM and were available on 16GB/64GB storage variants (no micro-SD card slot).

This year, the company has beefed up the OnePlus two advanced 64-bit class Snapdragon 810 series Octa-core SoC (System on Chip). It will be aptly backed by sumptuous 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage with an option for expansion.

Camera Specifications:

OnePlus One boasts a 13mp Sony Exmor IMX214 main camera and a 5mp snapper on the front.

This year, its successor is expected to get major upgrade with a bump in the main camera. It is said to feature a 16mp camera on the rear side and may boast LED flash and 4K video-recording ability.

Whereas on the front, OnePlus Two is expected to house a 5mp camera with a wide-angle lens to appease the selfie aficionados.

Mobile Operating System:

After officially cutting cords with its software partner, Cyanogen, last month, it will be incorporating their in-house developer-community built Oxygen OS (based on Android 5.0 Lollipop) for OnePlus Two.

Release Date:

Last year, OnePlus had unveiled One in 23 April and released it in select markets (USA) on 25 April. So in 2015, we expect OnePlus to unveil the One's successor on 1 June and roll out the device in key regions via invite system for a few months and later make it available via open sale.

Price Details:

One of the key factors for OnePlus One to gain international attention was its ultra-affordable price. Despite housing top-of-the-line specifications, it was offered for half the price tag of tier-1 brands like Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8) and Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

[Note: OnePlus One costs $299/€269 (around ₹18,260) for 16GB Silk White and $349/€299 (around ₹21,320) for 64GB Sandstone Black model.]

Similarly, OnePlus Two is also expected to come with a budget-friendly price tag. Word on the street is that it might be priced close to ¥2499 (around $403/€369/₹25,752).

If the specifications and the budget-friendly price tag of OnePlus Two turns out to be true, then there is no doubt that the Chinese company will once again disrupt the global smartphone market, giving tier-1 companies like Samsung, HTC and Apple, run for their money.
