OnePlus hints launch of luxury product; OnePlus 2 Leather StyleSwap cover may release soon

It has been a little over a month since OnePlus 2 went on sale across the world and now the company is planning to launch some luxury product.

OnePlus recently posted on Twitter a graphic poster with a cryptic caption: "Something luxurious is coming to OnePlus. What could it be?".

In the picture, we see a device, understood to be OnePlus 2 with pink-white-pink combo coloured threading around notification button, hinting the company might unveil a new StyleSwipe series cover, not a new device of sort, which is being rumoured on the internet.

If we look at the image closely, the floor--where the device is placed--looks leather. It further enhances the chances that the item OnePlus is going to launch soon is another variant of StyleSwipe accessory.

OnePlus is already selling Black Apricot, Bamboo, Rosewood, Kevlar and others variants on its official e-store. Leather will be a welcome addition to the company's accessory portfolio.

In a related development, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has apologised to the OnePlus 2 seekers for the delay in sending out device invites.

Prior to the OnePlus 2 launch, the company had promised that purchase invites will be streamlined and the device-delivery speed will be 30-50 times faster than last year, but failed to bridge the demand-supply gap.

OnePlus, in its bid to cheer fans, has confirmed to host an open sale for one day. The company restrained from revealing the exact date, but it did reveal that the sale will happen by this month end or in early October.
