Over the last one month, OnePlus has announced four features of OnePlus2, its upcoming flagship smartphone. Now, the company has tipped another key specification, triggering excitement among fans.

It has confirmed that the new OnePlus 2 will house an advanced 4GB LPDDR4 (Low Power Double Data Rate Type series 4) RAM, making the device the 'latest and greatest' in the market when it is launched on 27 July.

"The RAM inside the OnePlus 2 is the latest and greatest on the market: LPDDR4", said the company on the official blog.

Though its rival Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) boasts of a 4GB RAM, its version is LPDDR3. So, OnePlus 2 users will have added advantage over the Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML).

What are the benefits of LPDDR4 over LPDDR3?

For starters, LPDDR4 RAM is much superior in many aspects to LPDDR3 series RAM found in the current crop of top-end smartphones. The former consumes less power to perform operations on smartphone.

It can also work with speed up to 32GB/s, which is double the speed of its predecessor that houses LPDDR3.

To sum things up, OnePlus 2 owners will be able enjoy faster app loading, quick swapping among multiple apps, smooth working conditions, less (or no) lag while playing high intensity games and a longer battery life.

But here is the bad news. This is the final feature announcement of 4G LPDDR4 RAM from OnePlus, and people will now have to wait for another couple of weeks to fully know about other special features, if any, in the OnePlus 2.

So far, the company has confirmed that OnePlus 2 will boast of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.0 series (over-heating issue resolved), advanced Type C USB port and finger-print sensor, which is said to faster and more secured than the Touch ID system of Apple iPhone 6 (& 6 Plus).

And now, it has been stated to feature 4GB LPDDR4 RAM.

The OnePlus 2 will come with a sub-$450 price-tag.
