Vijay has a huge fan following in Kerala and as a treat to Ilayathalapathy's fans, the audio release event of his upcoming movie "Puli" will be aired on a popular Malayalam TV channel Surya TV for Onam festival on Thursday, 27 August.
It is a well-known fact that TV channels carefully plan their shows during the festive season as it is the best time to increase their TRPs.
Stiff competition is witnessed among those looking to nab key slots to air programmes on TV during the festive season.
Although it is a non-Malayalam movie, "Puli" has managed to get an important slot to air the audio release function. This clearly indicates that Vijay enjoys great fan following in the neighbouring state.
It also indicates the hype around the forthcoming Tamil movie. The audio of "Puli" was launched on 2 August in Chennai in a grand manner. It was aired on Sun TV recently for the Kollywood audience.
Vijay's movies have often done well in Kerala. In recent years, "Thuppakki", "Jilla" and "Kaththi" have made impressive business in God's Own Country. Even the actor's films that are aired on Malayalam channels from time to time garner good viewership.
"Puli" was supposed to release on 17 September, Ganesh Chathurthi, has been delayed. Due to incomplete VFX works, the makers pushed the release by two weeks. Now, it will hit the screens on 1 October as a Gandhi Jayanti treat.
"Puli" is a fantasy-adventure film starring Vijay, Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and yesteryear popular actress Sridevi Kapoor. It has been made with a budget of over Rs 100 crore.
Vijay's former manager PT Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens have jointly produced "Puli".
