Shahid Kapoor's O Romeo has concluded the first weekend with a decent collection at the Indian box office. The movie has inched closer to the Rs 50 crore net mark in three days.
O Romeo is one of the highly anticipated Bollywood movies. It promos have grabbed many eyeballs before its release. The makers have promoted it well on various platforms. But its pre-release hype helped it register an average amount of advance booking. The movie reportedly sold around 1.2 lakh tickets worth over Rs 3 crore for its opening day in its advance ticket booking.
The Shahid Kapoor starrer started on a slow note in its morning and matinee shows on its opening day. Its business improved in afternoon and evening shows. A strong word of mouth helped it show over 60 percent growth on Saturday. O Romeo remained strong on Sunday, but its collection was affected by the cricket match between India vs Pakistan.
Joginder Tuteja tweeted, "#ORomeo almost touches 35 crores mark after the weekend. After Saturday jump, Sunday normalised with collections being impacted due to #INDvsPAK #T20WorldCup match. Still, double digit collections came in and that too with an A certificate. 50 crores milestone will be crossed in Week One."

O Romeo has collected Rs 34.51 crores net at the Indian box office in the first weekend. Joginder Tuteja added, "Friday - 9.01 crores Saturday - 14.50 crores Sunday - 11 crores Total - 34.51 crores Stability during the weekdays would be key for a lifetime of 75 crores+."
The film is set to enter the profit zone soon. Joginder Tuteja tweeted, "The film has been mounted on a budget of 75-80 crores, and the manner in which it's going currently, 100 crores+ is set to come from global theatrical business. The makers have already recovered substantial sum through OTT and satellite, which means in just a couple of weeks, the film should start adding on to its profits.
