Nandamuri Balakrishna's NTR: Kathanayakudu will clash with Rajinikanth's Petta, Ram Charan's Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Venkatesh and Varun Tej's F2 at the box office during this Sankanti festival.

NTR biopic is released in two part and the first one has been titled Kathanayakudu, which is based on the life of late actor and politician NT Rama Rao. Balakrishna is playing his father NTR, while Vidya Balan appears as his wife Basavatarakam in the movie, which is directed by Krish and produced by Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati, Vishnu Induri under banners NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram and Vibri Media.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama is an action film written and directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by DVV Danayya under the banner DVV Entertainments. Ram Charan and Kiara Advani are seen in the lead roles. Vivek Oberoi is essaying the role of the antagonist in this film, which features Prashanth, Aryan Rajesh, Sneha and Ananya appear in the pivotal roles.

F2 – Fun and Frustration is a comedy film, which is directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju under banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Pirzada are playing the lead roles and Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Brahmaji and Raghu Babu appear in the supporting cast of the movie.

Petta is a Tamil-language action film which has been written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. The film features ensemble cast of Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, M Sasikumar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The makers have planned to dub and release in Telugu to cash in the popularity of Rajini and others in the Telugu states.

All the four films are big ticket movies made with whopping budget of over Rs 200 crore. Their theatrical rights have sold for record sum. The stakes are really very high on them. They will definitely not get enough number of screens and they will also eat away each other's prospects at box office. It should be seen who will emerge as the winner of this Sankranti season.

Opening day collection matters a lot for the success of any film. The makers could not defer their releases, but they are releasing them on different dates, so that each one of them will get good opening. NTR: Kathanayakudu, Petta, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and F2 are released in the theatres around the world on January 9, 10, 11 and 12 respectively.
