Yet another case of atrocity against Northeast people has been reported from the national capital region. This time, it's a woman from Assam who was allegedly sexually molested by a manager at a company in Gurgaon, Haryana. The woman also alleged that he made racist comments against her.

The 25-year-old woman works at a private company in Gurgaon.

In her complaint filed on 31 July, the woman alleged that the manager abused her by calling her "chinky" and "sexually molested" her, a reliable source told IB Times India. The complaint further stated that the manager threatened her to quit her job from 1 August.

The source also revealed that the alleged incident happened some days back but the complaint was filed on 31 July. The Gurgaon police are investigating the matter; no arrest has been made so far.

It must be mentioned that racial abuse, hararassment and sexual molestation on Northeast people in the national capital region of Delhi Haryana are rampant. Several cases of such crimes perpetrated against Northeast students and workers have been reported. 

Last December, a case of sexual molestation was reported from Gurgaon where a 20-year-old woman from Manipur alleged that a staff at a fashion boutique sexually molested her and threatened her of dire consequences, according to DNA.

In another instance reported by India Today, a girl from the Northeast was sexually molested by a security guard working at an apartment complex in Gurgaon when she was stuck in a lift. The incident, which occured in April 2014, was captured by a CCTV camera.
