Suresh Gopi and Honey Rose's latest film "My God", directed by M Mohanan, released on Friday, 4 December, has been opened to mixed reviews.

The film is said to be a guide for parents who put a lot of pressure on their children these days.

The film narrates the story of Sam Thottunkal, played by Master Adarsh. Suresh Gopi plays a US company's CEO, Adhiraja Bhattathirippad, and Honey Rose is child psychiatrist Arya.

Mollywood Times

Director M Mohanan narrated a story that has relevance in all times because it is connected with mental health of our children. But, a tasteless rendering of such a subject makes the movie out of the right path. The director seems to have so much faith in his subject matter and doesn't try anything new in narration of treatment.

The script is loosely weave and the dialogues are blunt Mohanan can opt some good actors as the kid to convey the urgency of the theme to the audience. All other departments including Bijibal's music and Jeethu Damodhar's cinematography couldn't rise above the average level.

My God put forwards its relevance only as a social, psychological drama that sheds light on the darker side of children's mental health. But, that factor becomes irrelevant when it comes to a highly competitive entertainer race in the box office. My God is only for those who want to have a quick look at our children's issues, for a change, of course.

Onlookers Media

It is more of a film for children and parents which gives them an awareness about parenting as well as to respect the dreams of their children.

Both Suresh Gopi and Hone rose did good as well but have to say honestly that Suresh Gopi had nothing to do in it. It was a waste of talent as far as we are concerned. Joy Mathew as the arrogant father of Sam, Sreenivasan as a Priest Vadakkan played their part well as well.

My God is an attempt to make a Taare Zameen Par kind of film in Mollywood and have to say that it failed big time as we have seen many good films with the same before in many languages.
