Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has launched its new the MX5 on Wednesday to mark the company's foray into the Indian market.
The Meizu MX5 was originally unveiled in June in China. The USP of the device is its biometric technology for secured phone unlocking.
The company has incorporated the mTouch v2.0 finger-print sensor with stainless-steel ring on the home screen with an option to register five different profiles. In its bid to improve the durability of the handset, the company has incorporated an additional layer of water-proof silicone gel behind the device to prevent water and stain erosion.
The Meizu MX5 also flaunts a uni-body metal (T6063 grade aluminum) based design language and comes packed with a feature-rich 20.7mp Sony IMX220 camera, which boasts of a dual-tone LED flash, laser-aided auto-focus, six physical lens and f/2.2 aperture, enabling users to record clear and crisp 4K videos. It also comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protective gear as well.
On the front, it houses 5mp camera with f/2.0 aperture and to enhance the photography experience, the handset comes preloaded with FotoNation 2.0 app and Face AE- a face-light boost feature with editing tools to get a nice selfie.
Other stipulated features include a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, Android 5.x.x Lollipop with Flyme 4.5 UI, 2.2GHz Mediatek Helio X10 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), 3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB storage and a 3150 mAh battery.
Meizu MX5 India release and price:
The company has confirmed that the new Meizu MX5 will be made available exclusively on Snapdeal for Rs 19,999 from Wednesday, 26 August.
Competition:
With a sub-Rs 20,000 price tag, the Meizu MX5 will be up against Samsung's new Galaxy A8, the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra, the ZTE Nubia Mini and the OnePlus 2, among others.
