South Korean consumer electronics company Samsung on Monday (2 August) officially released the Galaxy A8 in India.
The new Samsung Galaxy A8 was initially launched in China last month and now the phone has set foot in the country with a tweak.
Unlike the China variant (SM-A800F), which houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core, the Indian model comes packed with the company's proprietary Samsung Exynos 5430 series Octa-core. The rest of the features remain same.
One of the key attributes of the Samsung Galaxy A8 is its ultra-sleek body. It measures just 5.9 mm, making it the slimmest smartphone in the Galaxy series till date.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 also flaunts a metal chassis around the edges, giving a sense of a premium design and also sturdy structure capable of withstanding an accidental drop.
Another notable feature of the Galaxy A8 is its new improved finger-print scanner on the home button, similar to the one seen in the current marquee phone Galaxy S6 (& S6 Edge).
The Samsung Galaxy A8 also boasts of a 5.7-inch full HD display and comes packed with the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, 2GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory, 16mp main camera and a 5mp snapper on the front.
