Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta is reportedly set to add the Brutale 800 to its India portfolio, suggest the emerging reports. The Brutale 800 has been long-rumoured for the Indian market and was linked with several launch dates in the country.

Now a report of CarandBike suggest that the new Brutale is poised for its launch in the country in July 2017. Citing MotoRoyale Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia, the report also adds that the Brutale 800 is believed to be priced at around Rs. 15 lakh in India.

MV Agusta is selling the bike in India in partnership with the Pune-based Kinetic Group and the Brutale 800 is expected to be the most affordable offering of the Italian maker's range in India. The soon-to-be-launched bike is believed to be undergoing its homologation process. The 2017 model of the Brutale 800 is expected to be tweaked a bit to meet the new emission and safety norms.

To be brought to India as SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) units, the Brutale 800 will be assembled at Kinetic Group's plant in Pune. The bike will come powered by an in-line 3-cylinder 798cc engine with a counter-rotating crankshaft, which can churn out 116bhp and 83Nm of torque. The upcoming Brutale 800 will come mated to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle can attain a top speed of 237kmph.
