The Mumbai Marathon, which is associated with charity, has been planning to raise more than ₹20 crore this year. Till now, the organizers of the event have accumulated over ₹16 crore from 269 NGOs.

The 11th edition of the Marathon will take place on Sunday (19 January) at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. 

In the past ten years, the charity drive associated with Mumbai Marathon has seen an amazing development and the occasion now stands unsurpassed and unchallenged as the nation's biggest charity raising event.

The philanthropy drive, which started in 2004, has accumulated around ₹100 crore in the last ten years which is helping hundreds of NGOs.

The figures raised for charity through the event have seen a spectacular rise, from ₹ 1.44 crore in 2004 to ₹ 4 crore in 2005, ₹ 4.5 crore in 2006, ₹ 7.94 crore in 2007, ₹ 8.05 crore in 2008, ₹ 7.75 crore in 2009, ₹ 9.16 crore in 2010, ₹ 12.16 crore in 2011, ₹ 16.07 crore in 2012 and ₹ 18.6 Crore in 2013.

  •  Start Opposite CST station - 05:40 am & 7:20 am
  •  Dr. D.N. Road past Fountain to Veer Nariman Road
  •  Turn Left on to Marine Drive towards The Oberoi hotel
  •  Turn Left on Vinayak K Shah Marg towards Maker Chambers
  •  Take U-Turn from T junction and come back on Marine Drive
  •  Turn Left towards NCPA and take U-turn & back on Marine Drive up to Chowpatty
  •  Turn Right to Babulnath Marg
  •  Turn Left past N.S. Patkar Marg over Kemps Corner Flyover to Haji Ali junction;
  •  Turn Left on to Lala Lajpat Rai Marg to Dr. Annie Besant Road and left under Love Grove Flyover/Mela Restaurant;
  •  Straight down towards BWSL.
  •  Go on BWSL towards Bandra
  •  Pass the toll plaza and switch the carriage way and move towards Bandra Causeway
  •  Turn right towards Mahim Church
  •  Turn Right on Caddel road crossing Mahim Church
  •  Go on Swatantra Veer Sawarkar Marg and pass by Hinduja Hospital, Shivaji Park, Siddhivinayak towards Century Bazar.
  •  Go onto Dr. Annie Besant Road and cross Glaxo, Worli Police Station & Poddar Hospital.
  •  Turn Right on Thadani Marg
  •  Turn Right on Worli Sea Face towards INS Trata.
  •  Go straight towards Dr. Annie Besant Road Jn. & Take a U-Turn and come back towards INS Trata. (Wrong Carriageway)
  •  Go onto Worli Sea Face towards Worli Dairy
  •  Cross Worli Sea-face and move towards the Love Grove flyover;
  •  Back on to same route up to Veer Nariman Road;
  •  Turn Left towards Fountain and back to the Finish.
