The pop culture event of the year, MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), will take place this year in California on Sunday, 24 August.

Rachel Antonoff will host the MTV VMA's red carpet event live on Sunday night starting at 9 pm from The Forum in Inglewood, California. The show will be aired live on MTV.com.

The 31st annual MTV VMA Award show will witness some power pack performances by A-list celebrities. Pop stars Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Jessie J will kick start the award show with their performance.

Some of the biggest names in the music industry and Hollywood, including Kim Kardashian, Demi Lovato, Gwen Stefani, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Jason Derulo, Dylan O'Brien, Trey Songz, Nina Dobrev, and Orange Is the New Black's Taylor Schilling, Laverne Cox and Uzo Aduba among others will be seen attending the event on Sunday.

Performers

Other celebs who will perform at the event are Usher, Taylor Swift, Zedd, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Usher, 5 Seconds Of Summer, and Grande, along with pre-Show performers Fifth Harmony.

"It's a great opportunity for hot blondes to stick up for each other," Ora told MTV during rehearsals, according to US Weekly. "Me and Iggy are so excited about this song."

Beyonce will be honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on Sunday.
