Motorola is joining the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update party with five of its latest smartphones to get the new operating system in India. Google launched the latest OS with Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones and soon it will start shipping the update to other eligible handsets. Owners of Android smartphones are constantly looking out for whether their smartphones will get Marshmallow, but here's an update on Motorola devices.

According to a report from BGR India, Motorola said that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolled out to Moto X Play, Moto Turbo, Moto G (third generation), Moto G (second generation), and the Moto X (second generation). As the company's Moto X Style is expected to launch in India "very soon," it will also be among the list of devices to get the latest update.

It is clear that Motorola's Google Nexus 6 will also be updated with Android Marshmallow, with a strong chance that it can get the new software sooner than other Moto devices.

While listing the eligible handsets for Android 6.0 update, Motorola did not mention the Moto E smartphone, which opposes Motorola's promise to "make sure your Moto E stays up to date after you buy it," Techshout duly noted.

Motorola did not reveal the specific release date for rolling out the software update to eligible devices but gave a cryptic statement to BGR stating, "As for timing, we have high standards, so we'll work fast but we won't push the upgrades out until we know they're ready. Look for more news on timing in the coming weeks."
