Motorola is expected to launch the new Moto Z2 on June 27.Motorola

Following the launch of the Moto Z2 Play, Motorola is now gearing up to unleash the Moto Z2. At a time when the company is highly expected to launch the phone at an upcoming event on June 27, the new handset has already made an appearance on the AnTuTu benchmark, one of the popular Android smartphone and tablet benchmarking apps.

According to the AnTuTu listing, the Moto Z2 will feature a 5.5-inch screen with Quad HD resolution of 1440×2560 pixels, a 12MP rear dual camera setup, a 5MP front-facing camera and 64GB of onboard storage. The phone, which is likely to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, is also expected to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 paired with Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

Recent rumours suggested that Motorola was testing a Moto Z 2017 version on the Gigabit LTE service. Since the Snapdragon 835 processor is Gigabit LTE-capable, it's quite safe to assume that the Moto Z2 may support the fast wireless technology that can support speeds up to 1Gbps.

However, the latest AnTuTu listing of the phone didn't provide any information on that front.

The leaked specs, on the other hand, were quite similar to a previous leak on GeekBench, which suggested that the Moto Z2's Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor would clock at 1.90GHz. On GeekBench, the device scored 1,879 and 6,503 in single-core test and multi-core test, respectively.

Similar to last year's Moto Z, the Moto Z2 2017 is also expected to be modular, which means that users can use various Moto Mods with the handset for added features like the Keyboard Mod.

Recent reports also suggested that the Moto Z2 might come in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and another top-end model with 6GB of RAM. In addition, the device is also said to carry a 3,000+mAh battery, despite keeping a slim form factor.

Motorola launched the Moto Z2 Play in India on June 8 with a price tag of Rs. 27,999.
