Micromax's much-talked about A116 Canvas HD smartphone which has been facing shipment problems has finally arrived on e-retailer website Snapdeal.

According to Daily Bhaskar, which cited a Snapdeal online representative as its source, a fresh batch of Micromax A116 Canvas HD units have arrived on Sanpdeal and the website has begun the transit of the phone to the customers who placed orders between 16-18 February.

Consumers who have been waiting anxiously to lay their hands on A116 Canvas HD have expressed their excitement on receiving an email notification from Snapdeal that their phones have been shipped. Rahul Gupta, one of the soon-to-be-owners of the brand new smartphone, posted on Snapdeal's Facebook page, "WOWWWWW.....  I HV GOT MY CANVAS HD A116 RIGHT NOW FROM THE COURIER...... yeeeppppiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii."

Snapdeal has not revealed about the number of units in stock. It was reported that the company will clear the backlog order of phones before the end of March. Last week, Snapdeal said that the shipment was delayed further due to some procedural issues which now seem to have been resolved.

Apparently, the latest price hike of Micromax A116 Canvas HD is not effective for the orders place between 16-18 February. Micromax had earlier said that A116 Canvas HD which was launched for ₹13,990 will now be sold for ₹14,499. The retail price was raised following the government proposal to hike duty of handsets which are priced above ₹2,000. For customers who pre-ordered the phone after the sale of the first batch are exempted from the hike.

Micromax's first quad-core smartphone has registered good sales since its launch on 14 February. The company sold 9000 units less than 24 hours. The device has a 5-inch HD IPS screen with 1280x720 pixel resolution and 16.7 million colour depth. It is powered by MediaTek's MT6589 1.2 GHz quad core processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system.
