Meta Muse, Meta's new personal AI agent, is now showing up as an option in Instagram's share section. However, Indian users trying to use the feature are still unable to access it.

The Muse icon can be seen when users try to share an Instagram Reel or post. Once a user selects Muse, the option shows a "Get app" prompt. However, clicking on it leads to a message saying that the app is "not available in your country", leaving Indian users unable to access Meta's new AI agent.

Meta's new AI chatbot and personal agent Muse is currently not officially available in India, meaning Indian users may have to wait before they can fully access the service.

Muse is designed to go beyond a regular chatbot and can autonomously carry out multi-step tasks on behalf of users, including booking flights, managing calendars, shopping and handling other everyday tasks. Meta describes Muse as a personal AI agent that can browse the web, connect with apps and continue working in the background.

Unlike standard AI assistants that mainly respond to prompts, Muse is designed to take action for users. It can understand a request, plan the steps involved and complete tasks across different services with minimal user intervention.

For example, instead of simply asking Muse for flight options, users can hand over the task and let the AI agent search, compare and potentially book a suitable flight based on their preferences. Muse can also manage calendars, handle shopping tasks, set reminders and work with connected apps.

Is Meta Muse available in India?

As of October 8, 2026, Meta Muse is not officially available in India.

Muse was initially launched in the US and later expanded to Canada. India is currently not among the countries where the personal AI agent is officially available. There is also no confirmed date for its launch in India.

This is different from Meta AI, which is already available to Indian users through Meta's platforms. Meta AI and Muse are separate products, with Muse being designed as a more autonomous AI agent capable of actually carrying out tasks on a user's behalf.

The fact that the Muse icon is appearing inside Instagram does not mean the service has been launched in India. The Instagram integration can make the feature visible to users, while access to the actual Muse app remains region-restricted.

Where is Meta Muse available?

Meta Muse is currently available in the United States and Canada, with the rollout being expanded gradually. The service is available through the dedicated Muse app and can also be accessed through WhatsApp in supported markets.

Meta's official Muse page describes the service as a personal AI agent that can browse the web, make purchases, complete tasks, connect to apps and continue working in the background after the user closes the app.

What can Meta Muse do?

Meta Muse is designed to handle tasks that normally require users to switch between different apps or websites. These include:

  • Booking flights and travel
  • Managing calendars and schedules
  • Shopping and finding deals
  • Completing multi-step online tasks
  • Setting reminders and tracking goals
  • Connecting with apps such as email and calendars
  • Taking action on a user's instructions rather than simply providing information

The development of Muse comes as technology companies increasingly focus on AI agentsthat can perform tasks independently. Unlike traditional chatbots, these systems are being designed to move from answering questions to actually completing actions on behalf of users.

For Indian users, the key question now is when Meta will bring the full Muse experience to the country. For now, the "Get app" option appearing through Instagram may create curiosity, but users in India will still see that Muse is unavailable in their region.
