German auto manufacturer Mercedes-Benz's SLK-55 AMG is all set to hit the Indian market on 2 December.

The company, which launched its Celebratory Edition C in the domestic market recently, stated that SLK-55 AMG would be seen on the Indian roads soon. The highly acclaimed two-seater car packs 5.5 litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, which can pump in a maximum power of 421PS and a peak torque of 540Nm.

SLK-55 AMG accelerates from 0 kmph to 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds and is mated to an AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox. The car is expected to offer a fuel efficiency of 11.89kmpl and comes in three drive modes - Controlled Efficiency, Sports and Manual.

Regarding its features, the car gets a touch of Nappa leather and comes with 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, Eco Start/Stop system, AMG Sport/performance suspension, AMG sport exhaust, Torque vectoring brake and ESP. The car is likely to take on the likes of Porsche Cayman, the Jaguar F Type, Audi R8 and the BMW Z4 and is expected to fall in the price range of 1.00-1.50 crore.

Currently, the German luxury carmaker already has five AMG cars in its India portfolio - the E-63, the C-63, the G-63 and the SLS AMG coupe, besides its roadster model.

The company's flagship sedan S-Class is also due for launch in January. According to various media reports, the company's dealerships across India have started accepting the pre-booking of S-Class.
