US First Lady Melania Trump is getting back at the fashion designers who refused to work with her in the best way. After turning heads with her fashion statement during the first international trip, she has now made another stylish appearance.

Melania shined at the Ford's Theatre Gala on Sunday in head-to-toe nude Monique Lhuillier knot dress. The floor-length silk dress, which costs $2,595, is from Lhuillier's 2017 resort collection that features a knot at the waist. For her footwear, she ditched her one of her favourite Christian Louboutin shoes and went ahead with Manolo Blahnik pointy pumps.

"Thank you to everyone at @fordstheatre for tonight's performances! @POTUS and I enjoyed the evening very much," she tweeted after the event.

Melania's latest look is a proof that she is taking the best revenge from the fashion designers who said no to her. The list of designers who refused to work with her includes Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Christian Siriano and Sophie Theallet.

However, now fashion critics are changing their stance and have started to believe that it is an honour to dress her.

"There is a softening, a melting," stylist Phillip Bloch told Page Six. "Fashion people are fickle and fake. They are starting to see she is a beautiful woman who is married to the President, and it is an honour to dress her."

"She doesn't need couture. She can buy off the rack, and it looks beautiful," Bloch said. "She knows her size, and she knows what works on her. She luxuriates in minimal."

Meanwhile, social media users have praised Melania for the dress she wore at Ford's Theatre Gala. A user even compared her to Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly, while another said she is a classy First Lady.
