Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker, is looking to bring more models in India by 2020. Maruti, which is aiming a double-digit growth in this fiscal, plans to roll out 15 models in next four years.

While speaking to CNBC, RS Kalsi, executive director marketing and sales of Maruti Suzuki, said the Gujarat plant will be operational in the fourth quarter and the Baleno premium hatchback will be the first model to be rolled out from this facility.

"Our first line will be operational from Q4 onwards and on a two shift basis, it can produce 2.5 lakh vehicles. To start with, because Baleno is in the waiting, we will start with that and gradually, we will add other models," the publication quoted Kalsi as saying.

The company will also launch two new models — the Baleno RS and the Ignis — in India by the end of this year. The Ignis and the Baleno RS, which were showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, is currently on test runs on the Indian roads. While the Baleno RS is expected to come to the market during the festive season, the Ignis is expected by December. The Baleno RS is the BoosterJet engine version of the Baleno premium hatchback, which is already on sale in the country.

Both the upcoming models will be sold through Maruti's premium dealership Nexa. The Ignis will be the third model to go on the floors of Nexa after the S-Cross and the Baleno.
