Maoists Sunday started a two-day nationwide bandh (shutdown) against the killing of their military commander Kishenji. They blew up railway tracks in Jharkhand.

Superintendent of police Kuldip Diwedi said a group of Maoists used an IED to blow up a stretch of tracks between Gomia and Dumri railway stations of the East Central Railway in Bokaro district in at around 3 am.

On Saturday, Maoists blew up tracks between Hehegara and Chhipadohar railway stations in Latehar district which claimed eleven people.

They targeted the convoy of MP and former Jharkhand Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari at Ladu More in Latehar. However, the former speaker escaped unhurt.

The Maoists, who have attacked the convoy of Inder Singh Namdhari, looted two SLR and eight Insas rifles, 900 rounds of bullets and a wireless set from the dead and injured policemen, said a Z TV news report.
