One child and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a blast caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Imphal , the capital city of Manipur, on Friday. This is the second terrorist attack on the same day in the northeast region. An earlier attack took place in Assam a few hours before the Manipur incident.

The blast took place near the Manipur State Museum located near the Imphal polo grounds.The injured CRPF personnel belonged to 109 Battalion Echo Company and were on there daily routine duty guarding Raj Bhavan when the blast occurred.

Varying accounts are reporting different figures on those injured. Although Times Now is reporting, one child and two CRPF jawans injured, a news flash by the News Wire ANI suggests that one CRPF jawan and another child have been injured.

CRPF soldiers have cordoned off the area and are now investigating the crime scene.

Earlier today, a terrorist attack was reported in the northeast region as well. Fourteen people were killed and another 14 injured when a suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militant fired upon civilians in the Balajan Tiniali market of Assam.
