After Losing 8 Family Members In Malviya Nagar Hotel Fire, Sole Survivor Radhe Shyam Aggarwal Dies

The tragic fire at Hotel Flourish Stay in Delhi's Malviya Nagar has claimed its final victim, wiping out an entire Gurugram family. Eighty-year-old Radheshyam Aggarwal, who had been undergoing treatment at Max Hospital in Saket, died on Tuesday after spending several days on ventilator support in the ICU.

His death comes a week after the devastating June 3 blaze killed eight of his family members who were staying at the hotel while caring for him during his hospitalisation.

Among those killed were his son Vivek Aggarwal, a chartered accountant and Financial Head at InsuranceDekho; daughter-in-law Tarjani Aggarwal, an event management professional, social worker and Mrs India 2023 winner; wife Premlata Aggarwal; and granddaughters Jeevisha and Waria. Also killed were relatives Ashok Pansari, Kamla Aggarwal and Jawari Lal Aggarwal, who had travelled from Rajasthan after learning about Radheshyam's illness.

According to family members, the fire broke out during breakfast hours, trapping guests inside the hotel amid dense smoke and flames. Vivek reportedly made a desperate final call to a cousin, pleading for help and asking that his daughters be rescued.

Hospital staff reportedly never informed Radheshyam about the tragedy. In the days leading up to his death, he continued to ask why his family members—who had visited him regularly before June 3—had suddenly stopped coming.

The fire erupted at Hotel Flourish Stay in Delhi's Malviya Nagar on June 3, leading to multiple fatalities and injuries. Authorities launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze and possible lapses in fire safety measures at the establishment.
