Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday joined educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk at Jantar Mantar, extending support to his indefinite hunger strike over the NEET examination controversy. During the protest, Kejriwal demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and urged the Centre to appoint Wangchuk as the country's Education Minister.
Addressing supporters, Kejriwal praised Wangchuk's contribution to education and said India needs an education system led by people with integrity and proven experience. He alleged that repeated irregularities in competitive examinations have shattered the trust of millions of students and their families, holding the Education Ministry accountable for the crisis.
Sonam Wangchuk is currently on the 19th day of his indefinite hunger strike, demanding accountability over alleged NEET exam irregularities and reforms in the examination system. His protest has drawn widespread support from students, activists, political leaders and public figures across the country.
