Home-grown UV maker Mahindra is all set to pull the wraps off its much-awaited mini SUV TUV300 in India on 10 September and ahead of its launch in the country, the company has opened the bookings against a down payment of Rs 20,000.

Mahindra TUV300 has already become a regular fixture in the auto world, with its specifications and images being leaked out periodically. Now, the latest buzz on the internet is that the newest offering in the SUV segment, TUV300, will be available in three variants: TUV300 T4, TUV300 T6 and TUV300 T8.

The folks at Auto Car India report that while the base variant (TUV300 T4) and the mid-level variant (T6) are likely to be available in three body colour choices -- silver, black and red, and white, silver and black -- the top-end variant (T8) is expected to be offered in six body colour options -- red, white, silver, black, blue and orange. According to this report, TUV300 T6 and T8 variants will also have optional AMT gearbox.

TUV300, a sub 4-metre, seven-seater SUV, will feature a flat roof, roof rails, short overhangs, body-coloured door handles, door mirrors and bumpers. The model, which is inspired by the battle tank, will feature a new mHawk80 engine under the hood. This engine is expected to be an updated version of the Quanto's 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel motor.

When launched, TUV300 will sit above the company's Quanto and is expected to be priced at around Rs 7 lakh.
