The 'New age XUV500' from the house of Mahindra has been making headlines for quite some time now. The company had also embarked on an extensive teaser campaigning for the facelifted avatar of XUV500 facelift ahead of its launch. The teaser images proclaim, 'Win the New Age XUV500 contest'.

Under the hood, the model is expected to carry the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel mill that currently generates a power of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and a peak torque of 330 Nm at 1,600-2,800 rpm.

As for its styling, the changes in the exterior of the Mahindra 2015 XUV500 facelift is expected to include new headlamp clusters with projector "S" shaped daytime running LEDs, chrome enriched grille and fog lights, and wider air dam. The latest teaser image of XUV500 shows the 'S' shaped LED daytime running lights of the model. Inside the cabin, however, the alterations are likely to be limited to the change in colour theme, a move designed to give the feel of an upmarket interior.

Grapevine also has it that the new XUV500 facelift is likely to get new top–of-the–line variant, W10, with all the features of Mahindra's XUV500 Xclusive Edition.

To be priced around ₹11.5 lakh, the new XUV500 facelift will rival Tata Safari Storme and Renault Duster, two main SUVs already revving on Indian roads.
