The wait is almost over, as the new Mahindra XUV500 facelift will be presented to the Indian auto lovers in just a few days' time. Now ahead of its official launch in the country, Mahindra has started teasing its new XUV500 online, confirming the launch of the model on 25 May.

The facelifted XUV500, which Mahindra calls the "New age XUV500", was already caught on camera numerous times in the country, in its disguised and undisguised forms. In the latest teaser images of the new XUV500, Mahindra reveals the S shaped LED daytime running lights of the model. Besides this, Mahindra XUV500 facelift is expected to remain almost the same as the current model in the market. From the spy shots we have seen so far, the model is expected to get new headlamp clusters with projector "S" shaped daytime running LEDs, chrome enriched grille and fog lights, and wider air dam.

The interior of the cabin is expected to get new colour theme to give the feel of an upmarket interior, and the side and rear profile of the new XUV500 is likely to be the same as the existing model. As for engine, the power is likely to come from the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel mill, which currently generates a power of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and a peak torque of 330 Nm at 1,600-2,800 rpm.

Team BHP also reports that Mahindra's new XUV500 facelift will also be getting a new top–of-the–line variant, W10.The variant is likely to have all the features that we saw in Mahindra's XUV500 Xclusive Edition and will be priced around ₹1 lakh more than the W8 variant of the model.

Expected to get a sticker price of around ₹11.5 lakh, the new XUV500 facelift will rival Tata Safari Storme and Renault Duster in India.
