Mahhi Vij & Jay Bhanushali announce separation after 16 years of marriage; 'We walk separate paths, no negativity'

The year 2026 has just begun, and we have been seeing Bollywood and TV stars getting engaged and announcing marriages, but amidst a wave of happiness, TV's power couple, Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali, have announced their separation.

For months, reports of trouble in their paradise had surfaced on social media. The duo repeatedly denied the rumours, while Mahhi was seen responding subtly to the media. Yet, reports stated that the couple were living separately, with Mahhi staying with their daughter, Tara.

And now, on January 4, 2026, Mahhi and Jay shared a note on their respective Instagram Stories, announcing their decision to part ways after almost 15 years of marriage.

The post read, "Today, we choose to part ways on a journey called life, yet we continue to have each other's backs. Peace, growth, kindness, and humanity have always been our guiding values."

"For the sake of our children: Tara, Khushi, Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them," they added.

They further wrote, "Though we walk separate paths, there is no villain in this story and no negativity attached to this decision. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we chose peace over drama and sanity above all else."

"We continue to respect one another, support one another, and remain friends, as we always have been. With mutual respect, we ask for your respect, love, and kindness as we move forward," the post concluded.
